A major fire erupted at a factory in Delhi's Narela Industrial Area on Friday, triggering a large emergency response.
Fire tenders were sent to the site immediately as firefighters worked to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby industrial units.
So much smoke was seen billowing into the sky that workers and residents in the neighborhood were attracted by it, and people in the community were looking out.
Emergency workers quickly secured the place and firefighting staff worked feverishly to bring the fire under control and put the flames out. The intensity of the fire forced authorities to expand the firefighting effort to the site.
Officials have not yet confirmed the cause of the fire. The reasons for the fire will be investigated once firefighting is completed and the affected factory is safe for inspection.
No official information has been released regarding casualties or injuries. Once rescue and firefighting efforts are completed, officials will provide a more detailed update. Emergency teams are looking to keep everybody safe in the area and minimize damage to the property.
Police are also at the scene to help manage crowd and traffic. Access to that part of the industrial area has been restricted to allow firefighters to do their job without obstacles.

Narela Industrial Area is one of Delhi’s major manufacturing hubs and houses numerous factories and warehouses. All kinds of machinery, raw materials, and other combustible items are present in these areas, so fire crews are trying to prevent the fire from spreading to the next unit.
There are still fire engines running on site and using high-pressure water jets and specialized equipment for dealing with the blaze.
The operation duration will depend on the intensity of the fire and materials maintained in the factory as well.
Officials still do not know how much damage has been done. Once the fire has been extinguished, the loss will be assessed and whether there has been structural damage done. A technical investigation will also be conducted to determine the source of the fire and whether any safety precautions were followed.
