Global streaming giant Netflix has expanded its footprint in India by launching its prestigious Eyeline Studios in Hyderabad, marking the company’s fifth global VFX and virtual production hub. The new studio was inaugurated by A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday, highlighting the growing importance of India especially South India in Netflix’s long-term content strategy.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Telangana Chief Minister described the arrival of Netflix in Hyderabad as a major milestone for the city’s film and technology industries. “Netflix coming to Hyderabad is like Hollywood arriving in Hyderabad,” he said, emphasizing the state’s commitment to supporting global media and entertainment companies.
Before Hyderabad, Eyeline Studios had major centers only in cities such as Los Angeles, Vancouver, London, and Seoul. The Hyderabad facility now becomes Netflix’s fifth major global hub for VFX and virtual production.
Spread across nearly 32,000 square feet, the studio is equipped with cutting-edge visual effects and virtual production technology. The facility is expected to significantly enhance the production of high-quality films, web series, and digital content while strengthening Netflix’s collaboration with India’s rapidly growing entertainment industry.
The studio is also expected to create global-level job opportunities for local artists, VFX specialists, and technical professionals in Telangana. Industry experts believe the facility will help nurture local talent and further establish Hyderabad as a major hub for film production and digital media.
During the event, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also invited Netflix to shift its corporate office to the upcoming Bharat Future City, a large-scale development project being built by the Telangana government. He assured the company of land support and full cooperation to facilitate its expansion.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Telangana IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu, actor Rana Daggubati, and Eyeline Studios CEO Jeff Shapiro, along with several industry leaders and officials.
Netflix has been strengthening its ties with the Telugu film industry in recent years. After the massive global success of the film RRR, Netflix leadership reportedly visited Hyderabad to meet director S. S. Rajamouli and actor Jr. NTR, among other Telugu cinema personalities.
With the launch of Eyeline Studios in Hyderabad, Netflix is expected to increase its investment in South Indian films and web series, further strengthening India’s role in the global streaming ecosystem.
