BJP National President Nitin Nabin has donated Rs 6.35 lakh to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for relief for flood victims in Bihar. The amount represents his three months’ salary as a Rajya Sabha MP, according to the information shared.
The donation comes as flood-affected areas of Bihar still need help and relief. The Chief Minister’s Relief Fund is a government-backed mechanism for the voluntary contributions of people to help with any disaster (floods, cyclones, earthquakes).
In the official Bihar CMRF website, the fund is mainly used for immediate relief of families and individuals affected by such disasters.
Nitin Nabin, the BJP national president and the Bihar member of Rajya Sabha, contributed the amount from his parliamentary salary. The contribution is to help the state’s relief efforts at a time when flood-affected communities need help with basic necessities and recovery.

The Bihar Chief Minister’s Relief Fund is financed entirely by volunteer donations from individuals and institutions. According to its official website, donations to the fund are non-refundable and eligible contributions have been notified for tax deduction under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.
The fund has been involved in responding to emergencies in the state since 1971. The CMRF is used for disaster relief and it pays for medical treatment as well. Relief is given with the approval of the Chief Minister, said the fund.
The official CMRF portal also publishes details of donations received. Its records show contributions from individuals, organisations and institutions through online payments and cheque or demand draft.
Nabin’s contribution adds to the support being provided for flood relief in Bihar. Donations to the CMRF can be used to strengthen immediate assistance for affected families, particularly during severe flooding.
The contribution also demonstrates the utility of public donations in disaster-response efforts. In the relief fund and with volunteers to help in flood and other disaster relief, the public can help the relief fund.
