A 35-year-old man died after falling from a high-rise building in Noida’s Supernova Society on Saturday morning. The victim, named Sambhav Jain, had checked into an Airbnb on the property alone before he fell, police said.
According to initial information, Jain was staying in one of the residential units in the high-rise complex. He went to the 43rd floor of the building before falling from the tower. The incident happened in the morning and was witnessed by people in and around the building.
With some high-rise residential complexes, the incident has again brought attention to safety issues of high-rise buildings, as well as that a similar death happened in the same building before and that a similar death happened more recently.
Man Falls From 43rd Floor Of Noida High-Rise
Jain had arrived at the Supernova Society and checked into an Airbnb before the incident. Police said he was alone at the accommodation at the time.
According to preliminary information, Jain reached the 43rd floor of the building before falling from the high-rise. Footage from the scene appeared to show him on the ledge just before the fall. The footage has since been shared widely online, but authorities are investigating evidence as part of their investigation.
People on the lower floors witnessed the incident and alerted authorities. Jain suffered fatal injuries in the fall and died at the scene.
Police secured the area and recovered the body. The body was sent for a post-mortem examination and investigators were trying to gather information about what actually happened.
Police Examine CCTV And Forensic Evidence
Police from Sector 126 are investigating the case and reviewing evidence from the building. CCTV footage is expected to play an important role in establishing Jain's movements before the incident.
Investigators are also looking for forensic evidence and other information that could help determine what happened inside the building before the fall. Police will interview people who saw Jain before the incident as part of the investigation.
Initial reports suggest investigators are now exploring whether Jain may have been experiencing financial or emotional stress. But these are preliminary lines of inquiry and the actual cause of Jain's death has not been established.
Authorities will need to determine what happened in the period between Jain’s arrival at the property and his fall from the 43rd floor. His decision to stay at an Airbnb alone is also among the details that could help investigators make sense of what happened as they start to put together the sequence of events.
Second Such Incident Reported At The Property
The other recent incident has raised some concern as it is the second such death at the building since early 2023.
Supernova Society is a major high-rise complex in Noida and has residential and commercial spaces. Falls from high-rise buildings can raise questions about access to vulnerable areas, protective barriers and other safety measures.
But the circumstances of each incident can be different and the latest case is still under investigation. Police are expected to establish the facts before determining the circumstances that led to Jain’s death.
The review will also determine whether building factors were involved or if it was related to the deceased's circumstances.
Post-Mortem Examination Underway
Police recovered Jain's body after the incident and sent it for a post-mortem examination. The examination is expected to give further information relevant to the investigation.
There will also be an investigation into what happened during his stay at the property: when he checked in, if he had contacted anyone at all and what he did on the upper floor.
Investigators may also look at electronic and other evidence (subject to the investigation’s needs) to understand the events leading to the death.
At this point, the police investigation is ongoing and no firm explanation has been given publicly for why Jain went to the 43rd floor or what immediately preceded the fall.
Incident Raises Questions About High-Rise Safety
The death has brought back to the forefront safety issues associated with tall residential buildings. High-rise properties typically have controlled access and safety systems, but authorities might investigate whether security or structural factors are relevant in an individual case.

In the words of residents, visitors and property managers, such incidents can also show residents and property managers how to keep a close eye on vulnerable areas and respond quickly when someone appears to be in distress.
In the Noida case, investigators will first focus on establishing the sequence of events surrounding Jain’s death. CCTV footage, forensic findings and statements from witnesses could help authorities build a clearer picture.
The existence of another similar incident at the property since 2023 might also be considered part of the wider context, but it is not necessarily related to the two cases.
Investigation Continues
Sambhav Jain’s death left people at the Noida high-rise shocked and police are still investigating. His reported stay at an Airbnb, movements within the building and the events immediately before the fall are among things that investigators are trying to establish.
As the investigation progresses, CCTV recordings, forensic evidence and the post-mortem report will provide further evidence. Any conclusions about possible financial or emotional stress will depend on evidence gathered during the investigation.
The case is still under investigation and a definitive motive or explanation of what exactly happened before the fatal fall has not been established publicly.
