Solidify Commitments to 'Viksit Bharat’

Premier's address was centered on the road to Viksit Bharat 2047. According to him, the momentum and excitement of this celebration is the foundation on which to build an India that is larger, stronger and richer. "Heartiest Republic Day salutations to all my fellow citizens. Let this national festival infuse your life with the new energy and passion. May the will for developed India grow even higher that’s what I hope for all,” the Prime Minister said.

Tributes to the Fallen Heroes

Traditionally, the Prime Minister opened his day at the National War Memorial, where he took the people to pay a solemn homage to our brave hearts. PM Modi and members of the Chief of Defence Staff and the three service chiefs laid a wreath, then observed a peaceful silence of 2 minutes in honour of the soldiers who made it possible.

  • The theme: The country celebrates 150 years of Vande Mataram the iconic national song in honor of this year’s festivities.
  • Chief guests: The Prime Minister hosted two foreign guests as a historic diplomatic gesture. António Costa was the President of the European Council and Ursula von der Leyen the President of the European Commission.
  • Women in Leadership: In a historic gesture, the parade included all-male contingents headed by female officers, who led a special show of the "Nari Shakti," ("Women Power"). Women are the backbone of the vision; it demonstrates not only that there should be some hierarchy, but all of this needs to be visible from the top, so those who run things have visibility.

A Call to Youth and Innovation

Similar to remarks President Droupadi Murmu made before Republic Day, PM Modi praised youth as an engine of the country’s progress. The "power of youth" and a dynamic start-up ecosystem will be the key catalysts to push the Indian Republic to realize its constitutional promises over coming decades, he said.
