A tragic incident has been reported from Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh in which Deepak Kumar, who was a disciple of spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj, died by suicide after jumping from the fourth floor of a residential building on Friday.
Deepak Kumar suffered severe injuries after falling from the building. He was rushed to a hospital for emergency medical treatment, but doctors could not save him. After the incident, personnel from Vrindavan Kotwali Police Station arrived and began the investigation. The body of the deceased was taken into police custody and sent for post-mortem examination.

Who was Deepak Kumar?
According to Mathura police officials, Deepak Kumar was living in a residential complex behind the ashram associated with Premanand Maharaj.
Deepak had been living in a flat in the residential complex for about one-and-a-half years, Rajeev Kumar said. The complex is situated behind the ashram and is relatively close to the spiritual centre where he had received initiation.
Deepak was originally from Jabalpur and was also known as Rasik Dulari Sharan, according to reports.
Police said the initial information shows that he jumped from the fourth floor of the residential building. The investigators are now trying to determine what was going on before this happened.
Received Initiation in February 2025
Deepak Kumar had taken diksha, or spiritual initiation, from Premanand Maharaj in February 2025.
After receiving initiation, he continued to stay in Vrindavan and lived in the residential complex behind the ashram. His connection with the spiritual institution has attracted attention after his death.
Police have not publicly linked his spiritual identity to the cause of his death. The investigators are looking at the facts independently and are not making any conclusions about a motive at this stage.
