The modern healthcare facility will provide quality medical treatment to thousands of people in Moga and local districts.

The new hospital has been established with modern medical facilities and is equipped to offer complete health services under one roof. It has modern operation theatres, emergency care units, diagnostic facilities, maternity services, intensive care units (ICUs), and special outpatient departments (OPDs).

The hospital will reduce the burden on larger government hospitals and provide quality treatment closer to people’s homes.

Bhagwant Mann, Chief Minister, said that improving healthcare is still one of the top priorities of the Punjab government. The government of Punjab needs affordable and quality medical care for everyone who is not able to travel long distances or pay a lot of money for private hospitals, he told the ceremony.

The hospital has received accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH). These are high standards of patient safety, healthcare quality, and hospital management for the hospital, and therefore the accreditation is a benchmark for quality in India’s healthcare sector and standard medical care for all patients.

Officials said the facility would have services for general medicine, surgery, pediatrics, gynecology, orthopedics, and emergency medicine. The hospital will also create employment for doctors, nurses, technicians, and other healthcare personnel in the area.

The Punjab government has initiated a nationwide expansion of healthcare infrastructure through new hospitals, better primary health centres, and Aam Aadmi Clinics. The inauguration of the Moga hospital is in line with the government's overall aim to increase access and to improve public health services.

Residents were most pleased with the opening of the hospital and said that it would cut down on the need to travel to Ludhiana, Faridkot, or Chandigarh for specialist treatment.

The presence of advanced medical facilities in Moga will be beneficial to patients from nearby rural areas, too.

NABH-accredited hospitals are essential for improving treatment outcomes through standardization of treatment protocols, infection control measures, and continuous quality monitoring, healthcare experts said. These facilities also help build public confidence in government healthcare facilities.

The state government also emphasized that it would continue investing in healthcare infrastructure, modern medical equipment, and trained healthcare professionals to improve overall health services for the local population and healthcare system for the people of Punjab as it is now a big healthcare development project in the country.

With this modern 120-bed NABH accredited hospital, Punjab is now on the way to improve access to healthcare and provide high quality treatment to the people of Punjab.

This is another manifestation of the government’s continuing initiative to improve the public health system and to make it more effective.
