A dilapidated government school building in Rampura village, also known as Kanwarpura, in Rajasthan was demolished after authorities declared it unsafe for schoolchildren. The demolition was carried out on Wednesday under the supervision of the local district administration and education department officials, a step in the direction of safety and infrastructure in the village.
The school building had not been in good condition for some time and had become a cause of concern for students, parents and local residents. A technical survey in September 2025 found the building unsafe for use. The building was closed down after the assessment and no accident or danger to students and staff was reported.
The issue was not only well received by the public after the formal safety assessment but continued to generate attention. The state of the school was brought to the fore recently by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) when it put up the School Thik Karo campaign on the infrastructure in the education sector in the country. People are concerned about problems at government schools and are demanding safe and better equipped education facilities.
According to reports, members of the organisation visited Rampura village to see the school premises. The school was still in a makeshift and damaged shed at the time of those visits after the original building was not suitable for use. But the visit also caused friction between members of the organisation and some local people.
At that time, the situation turned into a clash and First Information Reports were filed by both sides. Local controversy may have been created but the primary issue was the state of the school and students needing a safe and permanent learning environment.
The demolition of the old building now opens the way for a new school facility. The Rajasthan government and local authorities have already started construction of a replacement building and allocated a total budget of Rs 18 lakh for the project.
The funding has been provided by two major sources. A total of ₹ 12 lakh was sanctioned by DMFT on August 13. The rest of the money has been allocated through the local MLA fund. In addition, the money will help to build a new and safer building for students in Rampura.

Public welfare projects, such as education, healthcare and other essential infrastructure are also supported, which could be achieved with the funds in this case. In this case, it will make the village school infrastructure problem better.
