More than 1,000 candidates have also applied for the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and the appointment process has attracted former bureaucrats, politicians and professionals from various fields.
According to sources, the CEO recruitment follows allegations of embezzlement of donations received by the Ram Mandir Trust in Ayodhya. And now the newly appointed CEO will oversee the day-to-day administration and management of one of India's most significant religious institutions.
Screening to Begin on July 19
The Trust invited applications for its first-ever CEO on July 13 and the application window closed on July 18.
The process of screening applications is expected to begin on July 19, and the final decision-making will be made at the Trust's meeting on July 22, sources say.
To support the recruitment process, the Trust has established a three-member selection committee which includes:
- Retired Justice Pramod Kohli
- Retired Lieutenant General Vishnukant Chaturvedi.
- Trust member Suresh Haware.
Eligibility Criteria for Ram Mandir CEO
The Trust has provided for all applicants in-depth eligibility requirements. Candidates must:
Hold a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university. Be 50-70 years of age. Have at least 20 years of managerial experience in a government department, public institution, large organisation or company. Have a background in administration, finance, accounts, human resources, public relations, information technology, security and legal affairs. Have working knowledge of Hindi and English.
The selected candidate will be appointed on a three-year contract with the possibility for an extension based on performance. The CEO will be based in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh and salary and service benefits will be decided through mutual discussion.
Preference for Temple Administration Experience:
The Trust said preference would be given to those who have previously served as Chief Administrative Officers or have experience managing temples or Hindu religious institutions. Retired government officers are also encouraged to apply.
Religious Requirements
Aside from professional qualifications, the Trust has also specified religious eligibility criteria.
Applicants must be:
A practicing Hindu. A devotee of Lord Ram. Preference will be given to candidates belonging to the Vaishnava tradition.
The Trust said these requirements reflect the spiritual and cultural responsibilities of the Ram Mandir.
The appointment of the first CEO will play a major role in strengthening the Ram Temple Trust's administration of increasing pilgrim footfall, donations and day-to-day operations after the temple's inauguration.
