In a high-profile diplomatic appointment, the government has appointed Vishwesh Negi as the next Ambassador of India to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Ministry of External Affairs announced that Negi, an Indian Foreign Service officer of the 2002 batch, is currently Joint Secretary in the ministry. He will take up his new diplomatic assignment in Tehran soon.
