Tej Pratap Yadav, son of Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, has been remanded to 14 days in judicial custody for the recent student protests in Patna.
After police arrested the RJD leader over allegations of violence that erupted during the demonstrations on Exhibition Road, Tej Pratap Yadav is accused of inciting violence and vandalism during the protest, which allegedly caused damage to public property and disruption of law and order, police said.

After his arrest, Tej Pratap Yadav was taken to court and ordered to be sent to judicial custody for 14 days while the investigation continues.

Tej Pratap Yadav's supporters have criticized the arrest while the police maintain that it is based on the evidence gathered during the investigation. The legal process will proceed now to the appropriate court where the allegations against the RJD leader will be examined.
Judicial custody does not determine guilt or innocence; it means that the accused is still in custody while the investigation and the legal proceedings continue, and courts may make decisions (e.g., bail applications).
The case has intensified Bihar's political debate, and the ruling alliance and Opposition are arguing over the handling of the student protests and the police action.
