The achievement shows the growing number of devotees coming to the holy Tirumala shrine, which is one of the most visited pilgrimage places in the world. Every pilgrim who visits the temple considers the Srivari Laddu as a divine blessing, and it is one of the most important temple prasadams in India.

According to TTD officials, the record was achieved by a significant increase in pilgrim footfall during the month due to weekends, auspicious occasions, and various religious events. Thousands of devotees from all over India and abroad visited Tirumala to seek the blessings of Lord Venkateswara, and thus, great demand was on for the famous laddu.

The Srivari Laddu is not only a sweet. Made with a classic recipe of gram flour, sugar, ghee, cashew nuts, raisins, cardamom, and other premium ingredients, the laddu is now associated with the Tirumala pilgrimage. In addition to this, it has a Geographical Indication (GI) tag that says it is unique and that the preparation is done in that traditional manner.

To meet the demand for over 1.26 crore laddus required extensive planning and around-the-clock work by TTD. Hundreds of skilled workers and temple staff worked in shifts in the temple’s modernised kitchens to ensure uninterrupted production and high-quality and hygiene standards.

The laddu preparation is closely monitored to maintain taste and quality. All ingredients are tested for quality before being used, and the production system has been developed over the years to cater to the ever-increasing number of devotees without compromising the integrity of the prasadam.

Temple authorities also said that efficient crowd management, efficient laddu distribution counters, and digital ticketing systems also helped with the huge demand. Despite the huge sales, devotees received their prasadam smoothly without much disruption.

The Srivari Laddu still is one of the most famous religious offerings in India and has become an essential part of the Tirumala pilgrimage experience. For many devotees, taking home the sacred laddu symbolizes carrying Lord Venkateswara’s blessings to their families and loved ones.

Religious scholars believe that the rise in pilgrim numbers speaks to the faith that people have in Lord Venkateswara. The 1.26 crore laddus sold in one month is not just a statistical record but a testimony to the temple’s spiritual significance and its ability to cater to millions of devotees in a day.

With pilgrim numbers expected to remain high in the upcoming festivals and holidays, TTD is expected to continue to beef up its infrastructure and distribution system to guarantee that every devotee gets the holy Srivari Laddu without much inconvenience.

Tirumala is one of the world’s busiest and best-managed pilgrimage centres, and now this is being built on centuries of tradition and modern management, and it is serving millions of faithful every week.
