A major accident was narrowly averted in Batasingaram on the outskirts of Hyderabad after a TSRTC bus lost control and crashed into a roadside petrol station.
CCTV images of the driver driving the bus showed it was going fast and veering off the main road and towards the fuel station.
Based on the information available so far, the bus lost control as it travelled along the road near Batasingaram. The bus took off the main carriageway and collided with the roadside petrol station.
The CCTV footage shows the situation was fast and nobody had time to react.
The crash at the petrol station was a concern because fuel storage and dispensing equipment are a threat. A collision involving a large passenger bus at such a site would have been far more serious if the vehicle had collided with fuel dispensers or other essential infrastructure.
If the video of the incident is being watched it definitely highlights the moment when the bus leaves the road and crashes into the station.
Such CCTV footage may also be useful to authorities who are investigating the cause of the accident.

At present, however, more information on the number of passengers on the bus, whether they were injured and how much damage to the petrol station is expected is awaited.
The footage and other evidence will be examined now to know why the bus lost control.
The cause of the accident is not yet established. Any possible cause, such as the speed of a vehicle, mechanical problems in the vehicle, road conditions or driver events, would have to be verified by officials before any conclusion is possible.
Public transport vehicles can cause high risks of road accidents because buses carry many passengers at the same time. The worst thing for the vehicle to do is to suffer a driver who is close to a petrol station.
The Batasingaram incident again makes road safety, vehicle maintenance and safe driving on busy stretches near fuel stations and other high-risk areas a must to be done.
As we investigate we expect more information about casualties, property damage and the circumstances of the crash to be found out over time.
The information about the accident should be treated with care until officials have confirmed information on any accident.
But the CCTV footage at least serves as a reminder of just how close the incident was to becoming a much bigger disaster.
