A murder case of an Udupi-born man was uncovered today from Sharjah, months after the alleged crime took place. Prakash Kundar, who lived with his wife and son in Sharjah, was found dead after a violent encounter. It happened around July and only later did his family members become worried about his sudden disappearance.
Prakash was reported to have been working at Sharjah Airport and had been living with his wife Tina and their minor son in the UAE. His wife was a teacher. The couple had been married for about 20 years.
According to the family, Prakash’s brother Prashanth Kundar tried to contact him around July 20. Prakash would generally respond to calls or communicate through voice messages. But this time a text message was sent instead. When the family member asked Prakash to call him, communication was suddenly cut off.
The unusual response and silence of Prakash's relatives raised concerns. When inquiries were made through his job, the family was told that Prakash had gone to India. His brother was suspicious because Prakash had not returned to his native place and had not spoken to the family.
Following these developments, a missing person case was registered in Sharjah. Police began searching for Prakash, who had remained untraceable.
The investigation eventually led to a grim discovery. Prakash was found dead in his own car. Preliminary information on the case suggests he was severely injured and that he had been cut into pieces. Reports indicate the body was broken up into as many as nine pieces, so the circumstances of the case are particularly disturbing.
Wife and Son Missing
The disappearance of Prakash's wife Tina and their little son has added another layer of mystery to the case. Both are currently untraceable.
There are now questions as to whether the wife and son disappeared independently or may have left Sharjah after Prakash’s death. Tina may have been involved in the murder too, possibly with some help. Again, these are only speculation and any role of the missing woman or anyone else would have to be determined by a police investigation and evidence.
There was no known information about any serious dispute or ongoing family conflict between Prakash’s relatives, it was reported. The absence of any reported family dispute has made the situation more difficult for relatives to comprehend.
Prakash had travelled to India in December last year before he returned to Sharjah. He continued his work at Sharjah Airport and lived with his family.
