According to Congress workers who are familiar with the matter, the people present in the viral content are reportedly members of the family of one of Rahul Gandhi's close friends. According to the AICC coordinator, Harmeet Kaur K, the gathering was a meeting with a friend's family, and not about Gandhi’s personal life.
In addition to challenges towards virality, Rahul Gandhi was also active during the period in question and kept himself engaged on social media. He has posted many messages on his X (formerly Twitter) account about domestic politics and public concerns in India on July 18 and 19. His continuous involvement on social media has weakened speculation that he was living abroad with his family.
As the rumours go around, no mainstream media outlet has authenticated the video or reported that it shows Rahul Gandhi with a spouse or children. Fact-based reporting requires verifiable evidence, and none has been provided so far.
