The southwest monsoon is slowly withdrawing from the northern part of the country, but the rainfall activity continues over parts of southern and northwestern India. The weather will be different from one state to the next, with some states seeing a few showers and others remaining warm and dry.

Delhi-NCR weather forecast

Delhi is likely to have a dry and sunny day on Monday, October 5. Similar weather conditions are expected to continue through Tuesday.

However, rainfall activity could return to some parts of the National Capital Region between October 6 and 8. Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad may also experience rain during this period.

Haryana and Chandigarh will probably receive isolated to scattered rainfall on October 6 and 7. Residents in these areas may therefore be affected by the weather change after the dry spell.

Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab weather

Most parts of Uttar Pradesh are expected to remain dry and sunny on October 5. No warning for thunderstorms or heavy rainfall in the state has been issued by the IMD for Monday.

Rainfall activity is likely to increase in parts of northwest India between October 5 and 7. Monsoon showers could be felt in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand as well.

Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh could experience isolated to scattered rainfall on October 6 and 7.

Punjab is expected to remain largely dry, and the IMD has not issued a weather warning for the state between October 3 and October 5.

Kerala and Karnataka rainfall alert

From a weather point of view, Southern India is expected to remain more active. Kerala and Mahe may experience fairly widespread to widespread rainfall until October 7.

The IMD also warned of isolated heavy rainfall in Kerala on October 5 and 6. People living in places affected by waterlogging and local flooding need to be alert during heavy rains.

South Interior Karnataka is also likely to receive isolated heavy rainfall on October 5. Southern India may also experience thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds.

For Karnataka, the rainfall activity could bring temporary relief from warm weather but heavy showers may interfere with travel and outdoor activities in some areas.

Rajasthan weather forecast

Rajasthan is expected to remain largely dry and clear on October 5, and no weather warning has been issued for the state.

Both eastern and western areas of Rajasthan are likely to experience warm and dry weather. Jaipur, Pilani, Bikaner and Churu are likely to continue to experience high temperatures through the day.

The maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to remain in the range of 35°C to 41°C, and Rajasthan is one of the warmer regions during the period.

October 5 weather outlook

On the whole, the October 5 weather forecast indicates a clear contrast between northern and southern India. Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan are expected to remain mostly dry, while Kerala and South Interior Karnataka are likely to see increased rainfall activity.

The weather pattern could shift in the coming days, with rain potentially returning to parts of Delhi-NCR and northwest India between October 6 and 8. Residents should monitor the latest IMD updates, especially in areas where heavy rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds have been forecast.
