The deceased, identified as Pampanna Sajjan (74), was found murdered on the night of March 12. Initially, his son Sharanabasappa had lodged a complaint at the Waddagera police station, and the case was registered against unknown persons. Police began an investigation, but in the early stages, there were no clear leads on the perpetrators.

However, four days into the probe, police successfully traced and arrested four suspects identified as Ramesh, G. Viresh, M. Viresh, and Krishnappa, reportedly from Tirupati. During interrogation, the accused revealed that they had been hired to carry out the murder.

Further investigation uncovered that the contract for the killing was allegedly given by the victim’s own son, Narasareddy. While initial suspicions pointed towards a property dispute, the case took a dramatic turn after police examined the victim’s mobile phone.

According to police sources, the phone contained several photographs indicating the deceased had maintained illicit relationships with multiple women. Pampanna, despite his advanced age, reportedly lived separately on his farmland, engaging in such activities. He owned around 48 acres of land, of which he had already distributed 12 acres among his three sons while retaining 36 acres under his control.

Authorities stated that Pampanna had been living alone in a shed on his farmland for years, especially after his wife passed away about eight years ago. He was also reportedly addicted to alcohol and frequently brought women to his residence.

The investigation further revealed disturbing allegations that the deceased had inappropriate relations even with women connected to his family, including his daughter-in-law. This reportedly triggered outrage and humiliation within the family.

Police said that upon learning about his father’s alleged relationship with his own wife, Narasareddy became enraged and decided to eliminate him. He is believed to have paid ₹2 lakh to the four accused to execute the murder.

The case highlights a disturbing combination of family conflict, alleged immoral conduct, and premeditated violence. All the accused have been arrested, and further legal proceedings are underway.
