The Indian men’s cricket team will host West Indies for a full white-ball series with three ODIs and five T20Is from September 27 to October 17, 2026. All eight games will be played at different venues across India, so fans in several cities will be able to watch the two teams in action.
For the ODI series, Shubman Gill will lead India and Shreyas Iyer will be the T20I captain. Shai Hope will lead the West Indies in both formats. Both teams will have a chance to appraise their squads and combinations ahead of future internationals.
The three-match ODI series will begin on September 27 at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. The second ODI will be played on September 30 at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati before the third ODI in New Chandigarh on October 3 at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur.
The five-match T20I series will begin soon after the ODI leg. The first T20I is scheduled for October 6 in Lucknow and the second match in Ranchi on October 9. The third T20I will be held on October 11 in Indore and the fourth match will be played on October 14 in Hyderabad. The series will end in Bengaluru on October 17.
The ODI matches are scheduled to start at 1:30 PM IST, with the toss at 1:00 PM. The five T20Is will start at 7:00 PM IST, and the toss for each match will be held at 6:30 PM.
India has selected strong squads for both formats. Gill will lead the ODI side and have the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj as well. KL Rahul is also the vice-captain and wicketkeeper and Dhruv Jurel is another wicketkeeping option.
The T20I squad will be led by Iyer with Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav and Arshdeep Singh among the selected players. The young Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is also included in the team while Mayank Yadav returns to the team.
West Indies will also have a mix of established players and younger talent in the squad. Shai Hope will captain both teams with Roston Chase, Keacy Carty, Alzarri Joseph, Sherfane Rutherford and Gudakesh Motie in the ODI side. Shimron Hetmyer, Akeal Hosein, Rovman Powell, Romario Shepherd and others are all in the T20I team.
The eight-match series will also be a great opportunity for India as the team will be looking to make the most of home conditions before going to New Zealand for an all-format assignment. The match series will also give players an opportunity to hone themselves in the cricket as well as build up to the upcoming internationals.
