India have announced their squads for the white-ball home series against the West Indies, with Ruturaj Gaikwad making a comeback to the ODI squad. The teams were released by the BCCI on 16 September 2026 for a three-match ODI series and 5-match T20I series.
Ruturaj Gaikwad returns to ODI Setup
Ruturaj Gaikwad has been named in the 15-member ODI squad after being out of the senior side. The return comes at the height of India building its ODI team for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
Gaikwad is expected to provide another batting option in the middle order. He could slot in the No. 4 position after Shreyas Iyer is out of the ODI squad.
Shubman Gill to lead, Rohit and Virat.
Shubman Gill will continue as the ODI team's captain, with KL Rahul as vice-captain. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are also included in the squad for the three-match series in the West Indies.
Ravindra Jadeja also returns to the ODI team, while Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna strengthen the bowling attack.
The ODI team also has Auqib Nabi and Naman Dhir getting their first call-ups which will give the team more pace and all-round options.

Shubman Gill (C), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ruturaj Gaikwad, KL Rahul (VC), Dhruv Jurel, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna, Gurnoor Brar, Mohammed Siraj, Auqib Nabi, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Naman Dhir.
Shreyas Iyer to lead T20I side.
The T20I team has a different leadership structure, with Shreyas Iyer as captain and Tilak Varma as vice-captain.
The squad comprises Abhishek Sharma, 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav and Mayank Yadav.
Ruturaj Gaikwad, however, has only been selected for the ODI squad and does not appear in the announced T20I team.
