Their triumph, the most all-out outing of the tournament and in which RCB defeated the Gujarat Titans, was their best on record and was dominated by skipper Rajat Patidar.

RCB was solidly in the lead against the Gujarat Titans and had moved straight to the final. Their victory gave them the sense of solidifying the title, assured they would see their long wait for a maiden IPL championship come to an end. First hit after the toss, RCB started with the introduction deliberate, although an amazing captain’s kick by Patidar dominated the day.

Patidar doused the GT bowling assault with a combination of aggression, poise and a bang of boundaries and stroke execution. His innings completely turned the momentum to Bengaluru’s side, laying a solid foundation for the side. The momentum didn’t only transfer to the middle order for RCB that used that opportunity, and the scoreboard was ticking in the death overs, which kept ticking in their favour.

The Gujarat Titans had not quite gotten their bowling plans all the way over as their pacers leaked runs, while spinners couldn’t stop the flow of the boundaries. RCB had a frightening total at the end of the innings that left the Titans feeling under immediate pressure. Chasing a big target in a high-pressure playoff duel, the Gujarat Titans never got comfortable.

RCB bowlers hit early and continued to hit home in those innings. Titans were at the mercy of and never created any meaningful partnerships. RCB’s rapid pace attack in attacking with the new ball resulted in sharp movement as well as skilful handling by the spinners in the middle overs.

Gujarat’s batting lineup, which had looked so threatening all season, crumbled under pressure on the scoreboard as wickets tumbled. Patidar vengefully performed his captaincy, switching bowlers so deftly and keeping attacking field placements even as RCB kept the chips. The sense reflected Bengaluru's determination to be direct participants in the final and its spirit on the field.

At the end of the day, the final result, though a heavy loss for the Gujarat Titans, will be a big disappointment; however, their campaign is already alive. Now they are going to face the winner of the Eliminator for a spot in Qualifier 2, and that will come before them, from which they shall take one more chance to enter the event.

When the franchise then played in another IPL final, RCB fans went out to bat in the streets. Patidar led with a nice innings for the team’s win in a match where it wasn’t just fans around the world shouting for Patidar as the inspirational leader’s voice, but it was one of RCB’s greatest playoff triumphs in IPL history.

“And now on the back foot again and very content to have achieved the position they achieved by this time, 2026, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru are ready, with every ounce of confidence propelling them a step closer to reaching that final.”
