Since the IPL 2026 final between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the Gujarat Titans is on its way, the Bengaluru police have been advising fans that supporters should be in a good spirit to take the moment to celebrate responsibly and not disrupt the public order at all.
The final will be held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 31 May. In the absence of one championship match outside Karnataka, Bengaluru authorities are on high alert to prevent any untoward event following the result.
The advisory is also in reply to the tragic incident that took place during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s title celebrations last year, when a huge crowd gathering led to a disaster that claimed 11 lives. Since then, police have beefed up security measures during big IPL events in the city.

Key Guidelines Issued by Bengaluru Police
According to the police advisory, fans are urged to follow the following rules:
- No celebration is allowed without prior approval.
- LED screens should not be put up on roads or public places without permission.
- Bursting firecrackers and hazardous materials are prohibited.
- In crowded areas, people have to keep it down and orderly.
- Traffic police must exercise a sense of order to keep the flow of traffic in place.
- Bike rallies, reckless driving, stunts, and excessive honking are not allowed.
- It is not necessary for roads to be blocked for celebrations.
- Alcohol consumption in public places and disorderly behaviour will be seen as bad for business, and action will hence be taken.
- Social media users are warned to avoid things that could cause unrest.
- The sharing of hate and inflammatory posts on social media is strictly forbidden.
- Fans are warned not to abuse or target fans of rival teams in relation to the result of the match.
Bengaluru Police also said that the guidelines were issued to ensure peace, public safety, and law and order in the city during and after the IPL final.
Cricket fans are to consider the match as entertainment and celebrate in a responsible manner, City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh said. Anyone who is not in line with the rules or who disrupts would be held responsible.
Authorities have also deployed more personnel at sensitive locations and in areas where large crowds of cricket fans are likely to gather. Traffic police will be closely monitoring major roads, commercial hubs, and popular fan zones throughout the night.
Focus on Responsible Celebrations
With Royal Challengers Bengaluru going for another IPL title and emotions high among supporters, police have appealed to fans to put safety and civic responsibility before celebrations and to avoid excessive celebrations.
But officials said fans are entitled to celebrate the match and support their favorite team, but not to the point of compromising public safety.
As the cricket world gears up for the IPL 2026 final, Bengaluru Police would like the fans to celebrate the occasion in a disciplined manner and the city to be peaceful no matter what happens.
