Shivam Dube’s reputation as a big-match performer has been further strengthened after another big contribution in India’s Asian Games 2026 final win over Pakistan on October 3.
But his finals record did not begin in Nisshin. Dube has featured in four big finals in the past years: IPL 2023 final with Chennai Super Kings, Asia Cup 2025 final, T20 World Cup 2026 final and Asian Games 2026 final.
Dube has scored 118 runs in four games, with two unbeaten innings. His scores were 32, 33, 26 and 27.
IPL 2023 Final: An Important Cameo
Dube's first major final in this sequence came in the 2023 IPL final between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans.
With a revised target of 171 from 15 overs, CSK lost two quick wickets after their strong opening partnership. Dube, playing as an Impact Player, scored 32 off 21 balls.
His two sixes in a crucial over helped CSK keep the required scoring rate. Ravindra Jadeja finished the chase with a six and four from the last two deliveries and CSK won their fifth IPL title.
Asia Cup 2025 Final: A Crucial Partnership
Dube then produced one of his most important international-final performances in the 2025 Asia Cup final against Pakistan.
India was at 20/3 while chasing 147. Dube joined Tilak Varma and helped rebuild the innings.
He scored 33 off 22 balls, including two fours and two sixes. The pair added 60 runs for the fifth wicket, taking India closer to victory.
India eventually reached 150/5 in 19.4 overs to win the Asia Cup by five wickets.
T20 World Cup 2026 Final: Explosive Finish
The 2026 T20 World Cup final against New Zealand produced perhaps Dube’s most explosive cameo.
India had already crossed 200 when wickets began falling in the middle and death overs. Dube arrived late and smashed an unbeaten 26 off just eight balls.
His innings included three fours and two sixes, and 24 runs in the final over. India finished on 255/5 before bowling New Zealand out for 159 to win the T20 World Cup by 96 runs.
Shivam Dube casually flexing those big-hitting muscles! 😅

Asian Games 2026 Final: Bat and Ball
On October 3, Dube contributed again in a final, this time against Pakistan at the Asian Games in Nisshin.
He scored 27 off 15 balls as India posted 211/6. He then returned with the ball and took 2/33 from three overs as Pakistan finished on 192/6.
India won by 19 runs and retained the men's cricket gold medal.
Is Shivam Dube India's "Man for Finals"?
The numbers explain why the discussion has started.
Dube has scored in each of these four major finals and scored 118 runs from 66 balls, including two unbeaten innings. His final scores also show his ability to contribute in different situations—from a rebuilding role against Pakistan in the Asia Cup to a late-innings power-hitting role in the T20 World Cup.
But calling him India’s “most reliable finals player” is an assessment rather than an established statistical title. What can be said from the record is that Dube has made valuable contributions in big finals.
The pattern is clear: Dube has always found ways to contribute on the biggest stages from IPL in 2023 to international finals in 2025 and 2026.
