It lifted Salman Ali Agha’s side to the top of the table and pushed defending champions India to the second place for a moment.
Pakistan’s Dominant Run
After a hard-fought opening win against the Netherlands, Pakistan appeared far more composed against the USA. Sahibzada Farhan was the star with the bat, and a total bowling effort made sure that the American side never got too close to its target. The Way Forward: India and Pakistan
The existing standings create an ideal setting for the “Mother of all Battles.” And on February 15, 2026, India will face Pakistan in Colombo. Despite a lot of political pressure and speculation on PCB possibly boycotting the matter over the Bangladesh expulsion, there is reason for hope that the most important fight will get to a head.
If India can win its next few matches, it may take its place atop the World Cup, before the Super 8s begins. But Pakistan's current momentum now makes them quite powerful in the subcontinental conditions.
