The excitement for the Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 grand finale has hit fever pitch in Karnataka with only 24 hours before host Kichcha Sudeep takes the stage and announces the winner. Social media is filled with campaigns, debates and, interestingly enough, a cluster of weird rumors surrounding the well-known participant Gilli Nata.
Fact Check: The Rajinikanth and PM Modi “Endorsements”
In the last leg of the competition, fake posts have flooded social media to boost Gilli Nata’s voting tally. There was one viral post that claimed Superstar Rajinikanth spoke about Gilli Nata during an interview, stating, “My wife watches Bigg Boss Kannada 12 and she really likes Gilli Nata.” But it has been verified that it is actually a complete hoax made by a troll page.
Adding to the absurdity, yet another post began circulating saying Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his appreciation for Gilli Nata’s gameplay. While Gilli Nata’s popularity is undisputed, the claims that international superstars and world leaders are tracking a regional reality show are based on false information misleading gullible fans on Instagram and WhatsApp.
The “Gilli Army” and a Fan’s Ultimate Tribute
While celebrity gossip is false, support for Gilli Nata at ground level is very real. Recently, a hardcore fan took to the streets by tattooing Gilli Nata’s face on his arm. When the actor-contestant at Bigg Boss received the news through a special segment inside the house, he broke down in tears. So overcome by this gesture, Gilli said, “I will definitely meet this fan personally once I step out of this house.” That emotional connection to the common man has been Gilli’s strongest suit this season.
The Entertainer vs. The Contrarian
Undoubtedly, Gilli Nata has been the "Entertainer" of Season 12. His path, however, has been a rollercoaster of laughter and bitter friction. His arguments with Ashwini Gowda, Jahnvi, Dhruvanth and Rakshitha Shetty have been among the season’s most-watched clips. But though his fans enjoy his wit, many of his housemates have complained about his “boundary-crossing” comedy. His own close friends in the house, Suraj Singh and Rajat, joked that “24 hours with Gilli is a Herculean task.” This divisive quality (the audience loves him and the housemates are often critical) is why he is such a compelling finalist.
Will He Lift the Trophy?
Gilli Nata, as of today, stands as one of the strongest contenders for the title. Despite all the fake news campaigns, his genuine talent and his “son of the soil” image have garnered massive votes from the Davanagere and North Karnataka belts. Whether he can beat Rajat or Suraj Singh to lift the trophy will be revealed in the star-studded finale tomorrow.
