Hina Khan Blasts Shilpa Shinde Over 'False' Sexual Harassment Row, Calls Sanjay Kohli the 'Real Victim'

Television actress Hina Khan has attacked her former co-contestant Shilpa Shinde for her shocking admission that she filed a false sexual harassment case against Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain producer Sanjay Kohli. Hina called it “absolutely shameful” and insists that Kohli is the “real victim” of this episode.

I am shocked beyond words. Hina Khan said in a social media post that she usually does not comment on others but this problem required a response because of the grave societal implications.

“I only speak up when it is about something sensitive, something that affects all of us as a society, especially as women,” she wrote. “Yes, using your sex to malign someone’s image in order to win during a conflict is absolutely shameful. I am shocked beyond words.”

Who is the ‘Real Victim’? Moving from the actress to the producer, Hina said: “But I want to talk about the ‘Real Victim’ here. A respected man with a wife, a daughter and many other women in his family. A real hardworking producer with many iconic shows, who went through such an ordeal.”

She said the irony is that even after Shilpa admitted that the allegations were false and made just to gain leverage in a contractual dispute, Kohli still offered her work on the same show. “Another launchpad, another mouthpiece, another relevance, another chance to legitimise her fake claim of sexual assault,” she wrote. “What if the actor repeats it? I am appalled. The joke is on us.”

The Controversy Explained

The row erupted after Shilpa appeared on a podcast hosted by Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa, and she admitted that the sexual harassment complaint she had filed against Sanjay Kohli in 2016 was false. She said she had “no other option” to resolve her disputes over unpaid dues.

After much backlash and mounting calls for legal action, Shilpa issued a video statement that says she doesn’t regret telling the truth and that she confessed for her own “mental peace,” not publicity. She also claims that a “paid PR” is working against her. Hina Khan’s robust rejection of the law has only furthered the fire so far, and the abuse of laws to protect true survivors is worrying.
