IRCTC to Restart Freshly Cooked Meals on Trains Using Induction Stoves

Air India's Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will start preparing food on trains and will make it a new practice. Rather than using LPG cylinders, which are still available in train pantries, IRCTC will use induction stoves to cook food in train pantries now— and it’s safe to prepare food directly in train pantries and they are able to reduce food in trains by now. It is safe to use passengers’ convenience and modern technology to make meal delivery more efficient and safe.

Due to years of reliance on pre‑cooked and packaged meals, which, while serving as the source of fresh food, were often criticised by passengers for their lack of variety. IRCTC will be able to restore confidence in train catering and implement induction cooking and adhere to safety regulations.

🍴 Key Highlights of the Initiative. Fresh meals on trains: Passengers will once again have hot and fresh food as they travel.

Induction stoves: Safer than LPG, less hazardous in terms of fire and more efficient.

Passenger convenience: Greater variety and quality compared to packaged meals.

Safety compliance: conforms with current standards for onboard cooking.

By harnessing train electricity, induction stoves eliminate the risk of transporting and storing LPG cylinders. And it will also make for quicker cooking, so staff can serve meals more quickly.

Passengers are promised a wider menu including regional specialties, fresh-cooked staples and healthier options. It will also give catering staff jobs to be trained in induction cooking.

IRCTC’s decision to restart fresh cooking with induction stoves is a major enhancement in train catering services. It puts passenger expectations for quality food in conjunction with safety and efficiency. As it is implemented on trains, this initiative is going to transform the onboard dining experience and make train trips more enjoyable and satisfying.
