Citroën India has added new variants to the Aircross X and Basalt X SUV lineups ahead of the festive season so that buyers have more options on performance, features and affordability. The biggest change is that Citroën’s turbo-petrol engine will be offered on lower-spec You variants (the 110hp motor is not available on those).
The new Basalt X You Turbo is priced at ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) while the Aircross X You Turbo Comfort Edition costs ₹10.69 lakh (ex-showroom). Citroën says these variants will give customers stronger turbocharged performance without having to upgrade to a higher equipment level.
The new pricing means that the entry price for the turbo engine has been cut substantially. The 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine makes 110hp and is available with manual and automatic transmission at higher levels of the range. Turbo variants are stronger performers and more drivable than the naturally aspirated petrol engine.

The other big addition is the Max naturally aspirated (NA) variant. Citroën has basically gone in the opposite direction by using the higher-spec Max equipment level with the 82hp naturally aspirated petrol engine. Basalt X Max NA costs ₹11.34 lakh while Aircross X Max NA starts at ₹11.62 lakh.
So buyers who value features and comfort more than outright performance have a cheaper way into the top-spec Max trim. The naturally aspirated engine is also available with CNG across the range, although Citroën has not announced separate prices for the new CNG combinations.
Citroën has also launched a Comfort Edition package for You trims at an extra ₹20,000. Ambient lighting, 10.25 inch touchscreen and beige leatherette upholstery are some of the equipment offered in this package, which makes lower variants offer more of what is available on higher trims.
Alongside the petrol SUV updates, Citroën also launched the ë-C3X Extended — which claims a range of 330km (MIDC-I/II), up from 325km. The electric model is also offered under a Battery-as-a-Service programme starting at ₹6.99 lakh plus a battery charge of ₹2.26 per km.
Citroën is also offering a step-up financing scheme with loan tenures up to seven years. First year EMI’s for Basalt X and Aircross X start at ₹9,999 and ₹10,555 respectively (subject to applicable financing conditions).
With the latest update, Citroën is clearly trying to give customers more engine-and-feature combinations rather than another cosmetic edition. The cheaper turbo variants could make the Aircross X and Basalt X more competitive for buyers who want a bit more performance without paying for a fully loaded trim. These new variants were launched across Citroën’s Indian network from September 7, 2026 onwards.
