MINI India has opened pre-launch bookings for the new MINI Cooper Oxford Edition in India. The limited-run special edition is based on the MINI Cooper 3-Door and has a classic British look, with Union Jack on the exterior and cabin. And the Oxford Edition will be available in limited quantities, so it is more special than the MINI hatchback.
The Oxford Edition has been created as a tribute to Oxford in the UK, a city that is intrinsically linked to MINI’s heritage. The original Mini was produced in Oxford in 1959 and BMW Group has continued to produce modern MINI models with the same factory since 2001. The new special edition also takes a central theme from that and uses the Union Jack to the car’s theme.

The MINI Cooper Oxford Edition customers may contact their nearest authorised MINI dealer for booking. MINI India currently has 18 sales touchpoints in 17 cities including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Guwahati, Ranchi, Surat, Jaipur, and Jodhpur. They also allow customers to register their interest online and request a callback from an authorised MINI dealer.
Although bookings are now open, MINI India has not yet announced the official price of the Oxford Edition. The exact delivery time and other launch details are also not yet confirmed. So, a buyer should check with the dealerships for the latest pricing, availability and booking terms before buying.

The biggest change on the Oxford Edition is the styling. MINI has given the special edition a strong British theme with a Union Jack graphic on the contrasting roof. The design treatment extends to the bonnet, rear section and wheels, so it has a more distinctive look than the standard Cooper 3-Door.
The special edition is being offered with Indigo Sunset Blue and Chilli Red exterior colour options with Glazed White mirror caps and a contrasting roof. 18-inch Slide Spoke two-tone alloy wheels on top of Oxford-specific hub caps and Union Jack-inspired valve caps.
The car retains the familiar circular LED headlamps of the MINI Cooper, with customisable daytime running light signatures adding another personalisation element. The exterior design is intended as a way of instantly recognising the Oxford Edition without changing the basic MINI silhouette.

These include the 240 mm circular OLED touchscreen, a head-up display, Harman Kardon surround sound system, panoramic glass roof and heated steering wheel. Front seats are also electrically adjustable with driver memory and wireless charging.
Another additional highlight is the digital Personal Mode background inspired by Union Jack design. This extends the special edition theme from the exterior and physical cabin elements to the car's digital interface. Engine And Performance
The MINI Cooper Oxford Edition is based on the Cooper S 3-Door and retains its performance-oriented mechanical package. It is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine generating 204 hp and 300 Nm of peak torque.
The engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and sends power to the front wheels. The hatchback can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.6 seconds and its fuel efficiency is 16.82 kmpl.
This means that the Oxford Edition works primarily to add exclusivity and design differentiation rather than major mechanical changes over the Cooper S.

The MINI Cooper Oxford Edition has a large range of technology and safety features in it too. The driver-assistance package includes forward collision warning, lane departure warning, driver attentiveness monitoring, speed warning and reversing assistant.
