Ola Electric is adding electric scooters to its electric scooter portfolio with the launch of the Ola S1Z (new design with high battery technology, connected features and an easy-to-use electric two wheeler) on Friday. This is an electric scooter for the masses without the high price point of premium electric scooters.

So the Ola S1Z starts with an introductory price of ₹79,999 for the 3.1 kWh battery version. The larger 5.1 kWh battery version is priced at ₹99,999. These are all introductory prices and the final price may change depending on the pricing strategy of Ola Electric and Ola Electric's future offers.
The two variants are based on different needs. The 3.1 kWh version is about affordability and the 5.1 kWh is aimed at long-distance riding and less charging stops. Ola's official product page currently lists the two variants at ₹79,999 and ₹99,999 respectively.
Ola S1Z Booking And Delivery
A customer can reserve the Ola S1Z at ₹999 according to Ola Electric's official product information. The two batteries have different delivery plans: the 3.1 kWh S1Z will be delivered by December 2026 and the larger 5.1 kWh version will be delivered by March 2027.
The reservation system offers prospective buyers the chance to purchase the scooter before deliveries. Buyers should be aware of the final price, taxes, insurance, registration fees and any state-based EV incentives before purchasing the scooter.
Ola S1Z Range And Battery
Range is one of the biggest highlights of the new S1Z. The 3.1 kWh version has an IDC-certified range of 179 km, while the larger 5.1 kWh variant has an impressive claimed IDC range of 301 km. Both versions are equipped with Ola's LFP battery technology.
The 301 km claimed range makes the larger S1Z particularly notable in its price category. IDC figures are certified test-cycle figures and real-world range can vary depending on riding style, traffic, rider weight, road conditions, temperature and use of other electrical systems.
Ola says its LFP cell technology is designed and manufactured in India for Indian conditions. The chemistry offers better thermal stability and a longer battery life, and Ola says its LFP cells can last for more than 15 years under suitable conditions.
Performance And Charging
Both S1Z variants operate with a 4 kW peak power motor and claim a top speed of 70 kmph. The 3.1 kWh model can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in 4.6 seconds and the 5.1 kWh version takes 4.9 seconds for the same speed.
For home charging, the 3.1 kWh battery takes around 5 hours 42 minutes from 0 to 80 per cent to charge, while the 5.1 kWh version takes about 6 hours 16 minutes. This makes the scooter suitable for overnight charging and daily commuting.
Features And Technology
The S1Z is equipped with MoveOS 5, Ola Electric's connected software platform. For over-the-air software updates, GPS tracking, ride statistics and geo- and time-fencing capabilities, the company says. These connected features are available through the Ola app, adding a layer of smart functionality to the scooter.
The scooter also has Ola's in-house LFP battery technology and an IPM mid-drive motor with aluminium winding. Ola says the battery cells are manufactured at its Gigafactory in India. The company has also highlighted its in-house battery development, stating that its Bharat Cell programme has accumulated 426 patents.
Ola S1Z Colours
Ola Electric is also putting a lot of emphasis on personalisation. With the company saying the S1Z will be available with 10 colours, a gloss or a matte finish. A bigger range of colours will be for buyers than for budget electric scooters.

Warranty And Overall Package
Both versions of the S1Z come with a three-year/40,000 km scooter warranty, as per Ola's specifications. With the price being fairly low, LFP battery technology, connected software, 70 kmph top speed and up to 301 km of claimed IDC range, the S1Z is unique to Ola's range.
With the launch of the S1Z, Bhavish Aggarwal-led Ola Electric is making electric mobility accessible and it is now a step towards the community's own battery technology with its local-made technology. The 3.1 kWh version will appeal to urban commuters who want an affordable EV with low-cost, but the 5.1 kWh version would be the model to buy (which has a much better claimed range). With reservations open at ₹999 and deliveries scheduled to begin in December 2026 for the smaller battery version, the S1Z will become a hot seller for an electric scooter in the Indian electric scooter market.
