The incident occurred around 1:50 am on October 21 near Pragathipura, within the limits of Electronic City Police Station. Sahu, a native of Bihar who worked as a cook at a paying guest accommodation in BTM Layout, had been celebrating Dussehra with friends before the confrontation took place.

How the Road-Rage Incident Unfolded

According to a complaint filed by Sahu’s friend, Nitish Kumar Mukhiya, the group was crossing the road when a white car allegedly approached at high speed. Mukhiya reportedly gestured to the driver to slow down, prompting the vehicle’s occupants to stop, make a U-turn and return to confront the group.

The argument allegedly escalated into a physical altercation. Mukhiya then contacted Sahu, who was nearby, to seek help as tensions intensified.

When the occupants allegedly attempted to leave, Sahu stood in front of the vehicle. The driver, identified in police reports as Ajay Rabidas, allegedly accelerated, hitting Sahu and trapping him beneath the car.

The vehicle reportedly continued moving, dragging Sahu for approximately 100 to 150 metres before the occupants stopped, pulled him from underneath and left him severely injured near Hosur Service Road. They then fled the scene.

Sahu was rushed to a private hospital in Madiwala for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.

Three Arrested, Fourth Suspect Absconding

Police have arrested Ajay Rabidas, 26, Sajal Namasudra, 19, and Bijoy Ray, 27, all reported to be natives of Assam. A fourth suspect, identified in reports as Shyam Khoar, remains absconding, and efforts are underway to trace him.

Investigators reportedly used CCTV footage, information gathered from local residents and other technical leads to identify and track down the suspects.

Reports also indicate that the accused told investigators they had been heavily intoxicated after a party.
