Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Buys Manna Foods for ₹156 Cr | Health Segment Push

The FMCG arm of Reliance Industries, Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), has officially brought the trusted South Indian health brand Manna under its umbrella. The purchase is just another aspect of Mukesh Ambani's ambition to create an all-encompassing, "Made in India" consumer goods empire that competes with global titans like Nestle and Tata Consumer Products.

The Details of the Deal

  • Acquisition Cost: ₹156.42 crore (All-cash deal).
  • Stake: 100% equity in Southern Health Foods Private Limited.
  • Effective Date: February 9, 2026.

Why Manna? The Power of Millets

Manna has been a household name in Tamil Nadu and nearby states for more than two decades. Famed primarily for its millet-based health mixes, the label perfectly slots into global and domestic trends toward traditional, nutrient-dense grains.

Manna’s variety of products includes:

  • Millet-Based Staples - Flours & Breakfast Mixes.
  • Infant Nutrition: Specialized baby food products.
  • Health Drinks: Multigrain drink mixes and wellness beverages.
  • Specialized Nutrition: Brands like iStrong (for women) and Go Grains (for kids).

From Regional Favorite to Pan-India Powerhouse

T. Krishnakumar, Director of RCPL, said that although Manna already had credibility in the South, Reliance plans to use its substantial supply chain and research & development capabilities to scale the brand nationwide.

“Manna’s addition adds muscle to our packaged foods portfolio. We want to have these healthy items accessible across every geography in India and eventually, Manna becomes a regular consumer affair from Kashmir to Kanyakumari,” Krishnakumar said.

Reliance’s Expanding FMCG Field

The purchase of Manna is one of RCPL’s few recent major acquisitions, it said at the time of the transaction. The company purchased a majority interest in Australia-based Goodness Group Global, which owns the “better-for-you” beverage brands Nexba and PACE, just last week.

By positioning Manna in partnership with established brands including Udhaiyam (pulses), Independence (staples) and SiL (jams/sauces), Reliance is quickly constructing a portfolio catering to the classic Indian kitchen, as well as the more contemporary, health-friendly customer.
