Amazon’s Great Indian Festival is one of the biggest shopping events of the year, and shoppers are already looking forward to the 2026 edition. But Amazon didn’t announce the final dates of this year’s festive sale, and its AI shopping assistant Rufus has been giving some clues about when the event might start and what customers might expect.
According to the report, Rufus has suggested sale dates, discount ranges, bank offers and product categories that could see significant price cuts. But shoppers need to take this as an estimate and not as certainty because Amazon has not yet announced the Great Indian Festival 2026 schedule.
The sale is expected to include smartphones, laptops, televisions, home appliances, fashion, beauty products, and everyday essentials. Amazon’s AI-powered shopping tools may be a bigger factor for customers to compare products and track prices this year.
Could Amazon Great Indian Festival 2026 ever begin?
Rufus has reportedly provided different possible windows when asked about the 2026 Great Indian Festival.
In one reply, the AI assistant suggested that the sale could run from October 1 to October 23, and Prime members might get early access from October 1.
But when asked more questions, Rufus gave a wider window. It suggested that the sale could start sometime between September 27 and October 7, and the closing date could fall between October 12 and October 23.
The dates have not been confirmed by Amazon. So shoppers have to wait for a firm date for an official announcement before making plans based on a specific start or end date.
If Amazon follows its usual approach, Prime members could receive early access before the sale becomes available to other customers. Amazon has used early access for Prime members during previous major shopping events.
What discount might shoppers expect?
Rufus has said discounts may reach as high as 90% for some products at the Great Indian Festival. This doesn’t mean all products will get discounts of that level. These large reductions are typically only planned for selected products or limited-time offers.
Smartphones and electronics are going to be one of the big attractions during the festive sale. Shoppers will see smartphones, laptops, televisions, tablets, headphones, and other electronic goods marked for reductions.
Home appliances would also be prominent as well, with possible offers on refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, televisions and kitchen appliances.
Fashion, beauty, home and kitchen products are other categories that could receive festive discounts.
Amazon’s previous major sales provide some indication of the types of offers shoppers can expect. During the Great Freedom Sale in 2026, for instance, Amazon offered discounts on smartphones, fashion, beauty, home, kitchen, large appliances and everyday essentials. For product discounts, customers could also find bank offers, No-Cost EMI, and other promotions.

Amazon has been expanding Rufus to help customers get a feel for what products to purchase, compare options, and decide whether to buy them. The company also has a Price History feature to show trends in price over 30 to 90 days. Users can know if a product is at a significant price drop.
This could be especially useful at the Great Indian Festival because shoppers often see products advertised with large percentage discounts. In the case of customers, checking price history can provide further context before buying.
Rufus can also make recommendations based on natural language requests, and also make recommendations based on customers’ needs. Instead of searching for individual products manually, customers can describe what they are looking for and provide a budget or specific requirements.
Other AI-powered shopping features from Amazon include Lens AI, which helps customers find products using images, Review Highlights, and buying guides for product comparisons.
Bank offers and other ways to save
The final bank offers for the Great Indian Festival 2026 have not yet been officially announced. However, previous Amazon sales have included instant discounts through partner banks, No-Cost EMI, exchange offers, cashback, and Amazon Pay rewards.
During the Great Freedom Sale in 2026, Amazon offered a 10% instant discount on eligible HDFC Bank credit cards and EasyEMI transactions. Customers could also get cashback and No-Cost EMI on select cards.
Similar offers could appear during the Great Indian Festival, although the participating banks, discount percentages, and eligibility conditions may be different.
For shoppers planning to purchase expensive products, the product price will be compared with bank discounts, exchange benefits and cashback to determine the actual amount payable.
For now, the Great Indian Festival 2026 remains officially unannounced. Rufus’ responses may offer some clues about the timing and offers, but shoppers should wait for Amazon’s word on when the date or discount will be in place before taking it as a done deal.
