Dyson has made an unexpected introduction to the oral care market with the launch of the Dyson CameraJet, a premium smart electric toothbrush that blends artificial intelligence, a built-in camera, sonic brushing with automatic water-jet flossing. The first major product in the oral healthcare market was announced at IFA Berlin 2026.
Priced at $499 worldwide (or around ₹43,000 for taxes and local pricing adjustments) the Dyson CameraJet is a high-end connected oral care device. But Indian consumers are still waiting for more information as Dyson has not announced the price or launch date for the product in India yet.
Dyson CameraJet Brings A Camera Inside A Toothbrush
The biggest talking point of the CameraJet is its tiny 100,000-pixel macro camera which is built into the brush head. Instead of the user’s brushing technique, the device uses the camera to see teeth while brushing and identify spaces between them.
Dyson says the camera captures images at 28 frames per second and its artificial intelligence system continuously analyzes the user’s mouth. The technology is designed to recognise interdental gaps and determine when a water jet should be activated.
The concept is simple: While the sonic bristles clean the teeth, the CameraJet's optical system looks for areas that require additional interdental cleaning. Once a gap is found, the toothbrush automatically directs a precision jet of mouthrinse into the space.
AI Automatically Looks For Gaps Between Teeth
Dyson has developed a machine learning system called Gap Optical Targeting for the CameraJet. The technology is designed to identify the gaps between neighbouring teeth and predict the next area that needs cleaning as the user moves the toothbrush around their mouth.
According to Dyson, the optical system can react in about 100 milliseconds. This allows the water jet to operate almost seamlessly while the sonic brushing continues.
The company claims that users do not have to manually switch between brushing and interdental cleaning. The toothbrush is meant to coordinate the two processes automatically, making oral care routine more streamlined for a more complete oral care routine.
Sonic Motor Delivers Up To 58,000 Movements Per Minute
The CameraJet isn’t limited to its camera and AI capabilities. Dyson has also fitted the device with a high-speed sonic motor capable of generating up to 58,000 brush movements per minute.
Its brush head has dual bristle zones to clean along the gumline and also to remove surface stains. At the same time, the integrated water-jet system is focused on the spaces between teeth.
Another unusual feature is the 12.5ml mouthrinse reservoir in the toothbrush handle. Dyson's charging dock is designed to automatically refill the reservoir when the toothbrush is returned to its base so that users don’t need to manually fill it in before every brushing session.
MyDyson App Adds Connected Features
The CameraJet also goes beyond the physical toothbrush in the MyDyson app. The device can connect to the application using Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, allowing users to see information about their brushing sessions.
Users can view a live feed from the toothbrush's camera, record previous brushing sessions and trace how much of the mouth has been covered. Also, the app can provide customised oral hygiene advice and tell you when it is time to replace the brush head.
This connected approach means CameraJet is not just an electric toothbrush, but is part of a smart oral-care system as well.
Dyson CameraJet Price And India Availability
The Dyson CameraJet has been launched globally at a starting price of $499, making it much more expensive than most conventional electric toothbrushes. The Indian price would be around ₹43,000 before taxes, but the price in India will be different if the product is not launched in India.
The toothbrush will be available in Ceramic Blue and Ceramic Pink in a few international markets. Dyson has not yet announced an official India launch date or pricing.
With its AI-powered imaging, sonic brushing, automatic water-jet flossing and app integration, the CameraJet is Dyson’s attempt to put technology at the center of everyday oral care. What consumers are willing to pay for a toothbrush that can “see” and respond to their teeth will be one of the most interesting questions surrounding the product.
