The company has teased the upcoming devices as a new generation of AI-based laptops based on Gemini Intelligence. Googlebook is far from a normal Chromebook, with deeper Android integration and AI features integrated right into the operating system.

Google has also confirmed that the first Googlebook devices will come from major PC manufacturers like Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo.

Lenovo Googlebook 15 Could Have OLED Display.

While Google doesn't have complete specifications for all Googlebook models yet, leaked information has revealed details about the Lenovo Googlebook 15.

According to leaked product documentation provided by Dutch tech website ID.nl, the Lenovo model could also have a 15.3-inch OLED touchscreen with a 2,880 × 1,800 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The configuration also features an Intel Core Ultra 5 325 processor, up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of storage.

The specifications are also reported to be Wi-Fi 7, Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI 2.0 and a 70Wh battery.

Since these specifications are from leaked documentation, they should not yet be considered as Google's final confirmed specifications.

Gemini AI at the Centre

Googlebook is built around Google’s Gemini AI technology.

Some of the features are Magic Pointer, which lets users point at content on screen and receive contextual suggestions from Gemini.

Another feature, Create My Widget, is meant to allow users to build desktop widgets themselves with natural language instructions.

Google is also emphasizing the connectivity between Googlebook laptops and Android phones. Cast My Apps are built to make it easier to access compatible phone apps from the laptop.

Pre-Orders Begin September 21

Google has confirmed that pre-orders will start on September 21, 2026 at 9 a.m. Eastern Time. Obviously, Google has not yet released all pricing details, configurations or shipping dates for any model.

The first wave of Googlebook laptops will come from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo, and we expect to see a lot of different hardware options for consumers on this new platform.
