Apple is increasing production of iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in India to satisfy demand in every market in the world, said sources.
According to a report published on September 17, 2026, Apple’s manufacturing partners in India are working at increased capacity ahead of the devices’ first day of sales. Chartered flights have been used to move India-made iPhone units to international markets, including the United States.
That shows India's growing integration with Apple's global iPhone manufacturing and supply chain.
Foxconn and Tata Electronics Increase Production
Apple’s manufacturing in India includes major partners like Foxconn and Tata Electronics. Reports are that their facilities have been operating at high capacity to produce the premium iPhone models for export.
Great focus is required for Apple because it wants to have enough inventory in place when sales start in major markets.
The Economic Times observed that production is being augmented so deliveries to the US and other key markets are timely.
Chartered Flights Used for Faster Deliveries
One of the most interesting things is the reported use of chartered aircraft to transport finished iPhones from India.
Charter flights do not rely on regular cargo networks; instead, they can help manufacturers get huge shipments through quickly during a crucial launch period. India Today reported that iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max units made in India are being shipped internationally, including to the U.S., on chartered flights.
It also reflects the importance of having products available at once in most of Apple’s major launch markets.
India becomes more important to Apple’s supply chain.
