PlayStation players in India (both for gaming and for subscription) will henceforth have to pay more to get access to online multiplayer and subscription-based play via the official PlayStation Plus price hike across all tiers across India.
The new pricing of PS Plus Essential, Extra and Deluxe plans comes into play on May 21, 2026, when monthly and yearly subscription prices will all take a significant jump. The increase in price impacts both new subscribers and users renewing their plans once they expire.
Sony has said in official emails to subscribers that the change is because of “ongoing market conditions” affecting some parts of the world. The PS Plus Essential tier is generally considered the easiest option for casual and competitive gamers who are game fans who will download games like EA FC, GTA Online, Call of Duty, Fortnite and others that can be played with their friend as well as with another player.
Also, the Extra and Deluxe tiers come with access to bigger game libraries and more catalogues and are much more expensive for monthly subscribers.
