OPPO has increased the prices on several models including Reno 16, Reno 16c, A6s 5G and A6x 5G. The revisions range from ₹1,000 to ₹5,000 depending on the model and storage configuration. The new prices are expected to be presented in stores from August 18, 2026.

OPPO Reno 16 Gets ₹5,000 Price Hike

The OPPO Reno 16 has received the biggest increase in this latest revision. Both variants have become ₹5,000 more expensive.

The 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant has increased from ₹61,999 to ₹66,999, while the 12GB RAM + 256GB version has gone from ₹67,999 to ₹72,999.

The Reno 16c has been drastically more expensive as well. The 8GB + 128GB version has increased by ₹3,000 to ₹49,999, and the 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB variants have gone up by ₹4,000.

OPPO’s A-series has also been affected. The A6s 5G has seen an increase of up to ₹3,000, whereas the A6x 5G has seen smaller increases depending on the memory configuration.

POCO Phones Also Become Costlier

POCO has also been changing the prices for some smartphones. The POCO X8 Pro Max is now ₹2,000 more expensive on both listed variants, and the 12GB + 256GB model has increased from ₹46,999 to ₹48,999.

The 12GB + 512GB version is now priced at ₹52,999, but it is still available in India.

The POCO X8 Pro has received a ₹3,000 boost, while entry-level models like POCO C81 and C81x have seen smaller ₹500 revisions in the latest round.

The recent price increases follow several price increases in 2026 by POCO. In July, the company had already raised prices of the X8 Pro, X8 Pro Max and M8 5G, with some variants going up by ₹2,000.

Why are the prices of smartphones going up?

The repeated price increases are mainly related to higher costs of components, especially DRAM and NAND memory components. Mobile manufacturers are struggling with shortages of devices and memory, and the price of these components is going up.

OPPO has already had multiple price revisions this year. In July, it raised prices of the K14, K14x and A6s 5G by as much as ₹4,000, owing to shortages in RAM and storage components.

The larger Indian smartphone market is also experiencing pressure. Recent market data shows that smartphone shipments declined year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, while the premium segment continued to grow at a much better rate.

For customers, the latest changes mean that checking prices before buying a smartphone is even more important. A model launched at its original launch price may now cost several thousand rupees more, especially for higher-storage configurations.

Price increases can also affect buying decisions at the much more competitive ₹20,000 to ₹50,000 price points as consumers are used to comparing specifications from different brands.

Now that OPPO and POCO are joining a wider industry trend of price revisions, Indian smartphone buyers will see more changes if component costs remain high.

For now, the biggest increase in this latest round is the ₹5,000 increase on the OPPO Reno 16, while some POCO models have also had their price up. Consumers looking to upgrade their phones may therefore need to compare revised prices, offers and alternatives before buying.
