The Local Bank Officer recruitment aims to strengthen Bank of Baroda’s regional banking services by appointing officers that are well versed in local languages and customer needs. Candidates chosen through the recruitment process will be placed in the Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMG/S-I) cadre and will be posted in the state for which they are sought after. Knowledge of the local language is also required for the officers to be able to interact with customers and operate banking at the regional level.

The candidates need to have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university or institution to apply for the vacancies. Candidates should generally be between 20 and 30 years of age as of the cut-off date, but age relaxation will be available to those in reserved categories. The recruitment drive is open to candidates from different states as long as they meet the educational qualifications and language proficiency requirements set by the bank.

One of the attractive benefits of the recruitment is the salary. The JMG/S-I scale will be paid for selected candidates, and the salary is estimated to be between ₹48,480 to ₹85,920, along with allowances and other benefits available to Bank of Baroda employees. Besides job security, employees will receive opportunities for career growth, promotion, and professional development at one of India’s largest banking operations.

The selection process consists of multiple stages to assess candidates' banking aptitude, communication skills, and general aptitude for the role. The first stage is an online examination which includes reasoning ability, quantitative aptitude, English language, and banking or general awareness. Qualified candidates might qualify for additional stages, which may involve a group discussion and/or a personal interview (if required by the bank) or other steps. A local language proficiency test may also be conducted to indicate whether the candidate can read, write, speak, and understand the language of the region.

As per the recruitment notification, candidates belonging to the General, OBC, and EWS categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹850 plus taxes, and SC, ST, PwBD, and women applicants need to pay a lower application fee of ₹175.
