Healthy Living: Positive Thinking, Good Food, Plenty of Exercise, Feeling Good

In this day and age we live in a fast-paced world and as a result a balanced lifestyle is more essential than ever at our busy time. Living in health is not a diet or an afternoon at the gym; it’s a mind, food, exercise and mental well-being. And when all those parts come together, they shape a very powerful, virtuous cycle which makes your life that much happier or more satisfying.

It starts with the mind. It’s not just a buzzword. Think positively for your health. A positive mindset lowers stress levels and aids in the immune system and mental clarity. An ability to think of solutions instead of problems helps us make better choices in our bodies and lifestyle and the way we live.

Just as important is nutrition. Eating better means eating healthy, nutritious balanced meals that feed the body. Fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins and hydration help conserve energy. It’s not radical, extreme limitations, it’s about consistency and regularity and restraint and slow, moderate, mindful choices. Little daily adjustments to your meal plan can have huge long-term effects. It makes a difference in long-term impact, even to small scale changes of diet and exercise.

And, often, exercise is a primary, fundamental pillar of healthy living. It’s good for the heart, increases flexibility, increases stamina and contributes to a healthier mood over time. It doesn’t have to be too intense; even brisk walking, yoga, cycling or light stretching can assist. Consistency is key. Getting plenty of exercise a few times per week maintains good weight and offers a reduction risk of lifestyle-related diseases.

If we think positively and eat better and exercise regularly, then we logically feel good. Wellness is as inseparable from physical health as it is from the mind. The body nourishes the mind and the mind in its turn chooses better. It drives this virtuous circle home to us — The feeling good helps us carry on living well. It’s a way to make this virtuous cycle at work when you don’t have an abundance of good feelings in your life.

Healthy living is a lifelong endeavor, nothing about a set of goals and actions we can just achieve one day at a time. Start by taking a baby step and always remember that every positive action nudges you towards that healthy you and a happy you.
