Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons ragi flour
  • 1 cup water
  • Salt or jaggery as per taste

Procedure

First of all, take the ragi flour and pour it in some water. Mix very well to get a smooth paste. It must not lump as you mix. Add the rest of the water, then transfer it to your cooking pot when the mixture is smooth. Keep stirring, cook at low heat. Stirring will ensure proper cooking of the ragi in order to prevent lumps. You can continue to cook until the batter is thick and like porridge.

When the ragi porridge is cooked and the heat is down, relax; let it cool. When cooling, add salt to make a savory ragi drink. If you are fond of a sweet version, add jaggery and give it the right blend to make a naturally sweet and healthy beverage.
