The devotees who will visit the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya will have to follow the new darshan and aarti schedule from November 1, 2026.
The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has introduced the new schedule of daily worship of Ram Lalla which will include the opening and closing hours of the temple, morning aartis, bhog offerings, afternoon rest period and evening rituals.
The new schedule will be based on the seasonal change and will affect devotees visiting the temple from the first of November. The temple door will open at 4 am and close at 10 pm from now on and 3:45 in the morning and 10:30 in the evening.
The main change is the early morning worship schedule. The temple doors will open at 4 am, followed by Mangala Aarti from 4:30 am to 4:40 am. The sanctum will then be closed until 6:30 am for abhishek, shringar, dhoop-deep and naivedya.
Shringar Aarti is in session at 6:30 am and public darshan will begin at 7 am. Devotees who plan to visit early in the morning should take note that opening the temple doors at 4 am does not mean general darshan will start immediately.
The morning darshan session will include a short break for Bal Bhog. The temple doors will remain closed from 8 am until 8:10 am for the offering and darshan will continue until 11:30 am.
Raj Bhog rituals will take place between 11:30 am and noon and Raj Bhog Aarti at 12 pm. It will be part of the daily worship schedule, so visitors should anticipate a few pauses in darshan but not all day.
The afternoon schedule also includes a designated rest period for Ram Lalla. From 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm the deity will rest and then priests and Alpa Bhog ritual will take place. Darshan will resume at 1:35 pm.
This midday break is important for the people who are planning their trip as arriving during the closure may mean waiting until darshan resumes. It is important to know the timetable before leaving and that pilgrims can organise their visit more efficiently and avoid unnecessary delays.
Darshan will continue in the evening after another short pause for Bal Bhog from 4 pm to 4:10 pm. Devotees can have darshan until 6:45 pm. The evening worship rituals of dhoop-deep and naivedya will take place from 6:45 pm to 7 pm followed by Sandhya Aarti from 7 pm.
The revised schedule also includes two more periods when the temple doors will be closed for rituals from 8 pm to 8:30 pm and from 9:15 pm to 9:30 pm. Darshan will remain available in the other periods.
The final major ritual of the day will be Shayan Aarti at 9:30 pm, after which the temple doors will close at 10 pm. That means the overall daily temple schedule will begin 15 minutes later and end 30 minutes earlier than currently.
The changes cover the entire cycle of daily worship (aarti, food offerings and the deity's rest period) rather than just changing public visiting hours. The Trust has said that seasonal changes are taken into account.
For pilgrims who come to Ayodhya from other cities and states, the updated timetable makes advance planning very important.
The visitors should take into account the time of day when they arrive, transport arrangements and the darshan break times. In order to attend a particular aarti, one should plan for that particular aarti and follow what the temple administration has to say. The temple opening time, aarti timings and the darshan time for general darshan are different so checking each separately can avoid confusion.
The new schedule also points out that temple routines can change according to the season and religious observances.
Devotees should be encouraged to follow up on the latest news at the very least in the times of peak tourist periods and festivals when the number of visitors increases. The changes will go into effect on Sunday, November 1, 2026 and will be applicable to the daily worship and darshan arrangements at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.
With the new timings announced, devotees can plan their visits around the morning Mangala Aarti, the 7 am start of general darshan, the afternoon resumption at 1:35 pm and the evening Sandhya Aarti.
The temple will close at 10 pm under the revised timetable. Anyone planning a pilgrimage after November 1 should review the full schedule before travelling to ensure a smoother and more convenient darshan experience.
