Actress Karunya Ram Files Complaint Against Sister Over Loan Harassment. Karunya Ram: The Kannada actress has filed complaints with the RR Nagar police and the Central Crime Branch (CCB) after being harassed by lenders over the financial trouble her sister is experiencing. Karunya’s sister Samruddhi Ram, who was staying with her, reportedly lost about ₹25 lakh in online betting, the complaint says.
To pay for the losses, she borrowed money from private individuals and suffered setbacks in business ventures. She is said to have used household gold and cash for personal needs. Samruddhi stepped away from the house when asked. The lenders then started harassing Karunya herself: visiting her residence, causing trouble, sending abusive WhatsApp messages.
They also made derogatory comments about her social media photos, including comments like “Award for Cheaters.” She has named Samruddhi Ram as well as Pratibha, Kapil, Prajwal, Rakshit, and Sagar in her complaint.
The RR Nagar police have registered a Non-Cognizable Report (NCR), while the CCB has also taken up the case for investigation. It is now being investigated by authorities. The case demonstrates the increasing dangers regarding online betting losses and the following reverberations across families.
