Cocktail 2 was the most eagerly awaited film of the year and opened at the Indian box office very well on June 19, 2026 with very strong numbers that could be seen as a major success in the making. Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna had the best early bookings and word of mouth were strong early on.
A big advance booking in advance tickets was also remarkable: more than 1.6 lakh tickets sold nationwide, generating ₹5.57 crore before the release. Cocktail 2 was the third-highest advance booking of the year 2026 with Dhurandhar 2 and Border 2 as well. The success of the film was reflected in a good first-day sales, which industry sources estimated to be ₹12 to 14 crore nett, which was more than the opening day of Cocktail (2012) earning ₹10.95 crore.
The movie performed very well in key markets. Maharashtra had ₹1.46 crore in pre-sales followed by Delhi with ₹1.09 crore. Karnataka, Gujarat, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh were also able to contribute significantly to the film’s pan-India appeal. The star power, new, fresh story and vivid music have all worked for audiences all over the world.
Cocktail 2 has been directed by Homi Adajania (who also helmed the original), where Cocktail 2 is an unpredictable story that is not based on love triangle stereotypes. The music of the film, composed by Pritam, has already struck a chord and Mashooqa is a chart-topper.
The strong start positions Cocktail 2 to be a big hit at the box office at the moment. The film has received positive reviews with good performances and the story will maintain that momentum. Analysts believe that the film could earn ₹40–45 crore nett in its first three days, if the audience turnout is stable.
Cocktail 2 delivered a bumper opening day with lots of pre-bookings, good collections and good audience response. With its star power and music, and new narrative it could become one of the highest box office hits of 2026, and so I’m really looking forward to it.
