When it was originally supposed to come out on May 29, it was launched on a grand launch day today in Mumbai. It’s already generating very positive reviews on social media, where fans were saying the new chemistry between the actors and the film’s fun and lively vibe.

A New Love Triangle Packed With Fun and Chaos

The trailer introduces viewers to a story of friendship, romance, misunderstandings and emotional twists. Shahid Kapoor plays Kunal, and Kriti Sanon plays Ally. Rashmika Mandanna plays Diya, and the trio in the centre of the story are the three.

In an accompanying YouTube trailer message, Maddock Films teased fans with the caption: “From friends to lovers to CHAOS, the perfect is back.” The trailer suggests that the film will retain that youthful energy and relationship drama that made the original Cocktail a fan favourite.

Written by Tarun Jain and Luv Ranjan, the film will be a modern interpretation of love and friendship soppy, funny, and emotional.

Star Cast fees reported to have been revealed

Shahid Kapoor has been paid Rs 35 crore for Cocktail 2. Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna are also being paid Rs 15 crore each for their respective characters.

They are not verified by the makers, but they are a big conversation point online.

Kriti Sanon praises Rashmika Mandanna

As we see Rashmika Mandanna in an interview with Zoom, Kriti Sanon had nothing but glowing praises for her co-star.

"She is a very genuine person, kind, lovely and warm. No insecurity. Just goodness, and I think I'm a vibe person," Kriti said.

She explained further that she feels positive towards positive people, and she liked Rashmika's warm personality during the course of the filming.

Kriti also brought up comparisons between the original Cocktail and the new. Cocktail 2, she said, is not a direct sequel but a film that continues the spirit and vibe of the series.

Revisiting the Cocktail Legacy

The original Cocktail was released in 2012, and starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty in the lead roles.

The romantic comedy made its way to box office success, earning Rs 71.24 crore in India and about Rs 121.78 crore worldwide. With signature characters, music and a contemporary view on relationships, it was cultish among Bollywood fans.

Cocktail 2 now has a new cast and a new story and fan interest, so the challenge is to live up to the legacy of its predecessor. How can it replicate the box office success of the original?
