Recently, a video of Bollywood star Rajpal Yadav complimenting superstar Salman Khan went viral, which generated tons of chatter on social media. Truth Behind the Viral Video

In the circulating excerpt, Rajpal Yadav seems to be praising Salman Khan, describing him as an “elder brother” and claiming he is finally “relieved.” Though the timing implies a new statement, the video is actually from 2018. At the time, Rajpal Yadav had served a three-month sentence after serving in a previous cheque bounce case concerning his film Ata Pata Laapata. The footage is getting recycled now, which has led many to think that it is his initial statement after an earlier release.

Current Legal Status: Is He still imprisoned?

As of the 15-Feb-26, Rajpal Yadav is still in jail in Tihar. He surrendered after being ordered by the Delhi High Court in a long-held ₹9 crore cheque bounce case. On Feb.12, his lawyers submitted a bail application on the basis of family business and a desire to settle the dues. Meanwhile, the court adjourned the matter but his next bail is set for Monday, February 16, 2026. If, consequently, he has already dropped out of jail at some time and made a statement, that fact is factually wrong.

Industry Support: Salman Khan and Others Take a Stand

As old as the video is, the sentiment of support among industry players is very real. Goldie, Rajpal’s manager, had recently confirmed alluding to the numerous Bollywood A-listers backing him during this legal crisis.

  • Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn: Both superstars apparently contacted to promise to lend a hand financially, or advice on how to deal with Yadav getting off the hook.
  • Sonu Sood: The actor was one of the first to offer Rajpal a role in his forthcoming cinema and even signed out to help him keep his dignity in the crisis.
  • Rao Inderjeet Singh: A music producer in Delhi has agreed to give ₹1.11 crore to the actor toward helping him settle the ₹9 crore debt.

Yes, the "Bhai" of Bollywood stands by his colleague but there has not been an official "first statement" from Bollywood's Rajpal Yadav himself just yet, as he waits for the court decision for his bail.
