Goa Street Race 2026: Kichcha’s Kings Bengaluru Secure Runner-Up Spot

A weekend marked by screeching tyres and star-studded paddocks saw Kichcha’s Kings Bengaluru (KKB), owned by Kannada superstar Kichcha Sudeep, battle the Runner-Up slot at the Goa Street Race 2026 in what was dubbed a bittersweet win for the Bengaluru franchise. Car-related events at the recently created Manohar International Airport Street Circuit on February 14 to 15 brought about a nail-biting relay final where the Bengaluru franchise narrowly fell short of the top spot, the final highlight being Sunday’s Relay Race and a mandatory mid-race driver interchange.

Kichcha’s Kings Bengaluru, led by sensational young talent Ruhaan Alva, made a ferocious comeback in the second half of the race. A safety car intervention erased the 20-second lead held by Goa Aces JA Racing (owned by John Abraham) and Alva pushed the leading driver, Fabienne Wohlwend, to the limit.

Dash to the checkered flag that had the audience on its feet, Alva only finished 0.980 seconds behind the winners, bringing Bengaluru-based outfit a silver-medal win. “Street racing is all about resilience and not perfection,” said Kichcha Sudeep, who, standing at the trackside, cheered on his team. “These boys showed the spirit of Bengaluru today. We didn’t just compete on the race. We competed for every millisecond.

This second-place trophy represents our development in the Indian Racing League.”

KKB Weekend Highlights

  • Ruhaan Alva’s Double Podium: Alva took 3rd place (Podium) in Race 2 on Saturday, working from early chaos into winning some vital points.
  • Resilience Under Pressure: The start at Day 1 was rocky when teammate Sachel Rotge encountered technical issues, but the mechanics of the team kept the competition lines running overnight for the final session.
  • Star Presence: The Kichcha factor was kicking in real time, as Sudeep and fellow owners John Abraham, Naga Chaitanya and Sourav Ganguly made a memorable appearance at the event, turning a massive sporting event.

The runners-up round in Goa has forced Kichcha’s Kings Bengaluru onto the leadership stage while India’s Racing Festival 2026 reaches its latter stages.

A New Era for Bengaluru Sports

The success of the Kings Bengaluru team was very much in keeping with his recent victory in CCL 2026 with the Karnataka Bulldozers. The actor as part of a new motorsport push at the time serves as part of a larger project to promote professional racing in Karnataka: Ruhaan Alva the youngest race winner in IRL history has become a household name among local fans. Now that the engines have chilled in Goa, these "Kings" look to the Chennai season close and remain in their race-to-top-three place at the grand finale.
