Following the big-budget movies KGF, Salaar, Kantara and the big animated spectacle Mahavatar Narasimha, big production house Hombale Films is now moving into a completely new creative arena. The Bengaluru-based production house is currently working on its next big hit: Yeto Ka Naay, a hip-hop musical drama for today’s youth and Gen Z audiences.
The film is a new experiment for Hombale Films, which has consistently pushed boundaries in Indian cinema through innovative storytelling and high production values. Unlike the studio’s earlier action-packed or mythology-based films, Yeto Ka Naay will be a music-based and urban narrative-driven film with youth as the main focus.
The movie will be entirely set in Mumbai and will showcase the modern hip-hop culture emerging from urban India. Also, the makers are working on a Hindi version of the film under the title YKN Pehla Vaar to reach a wide audience in a variety of languages.
It is expected that this project would mark a new era of Indian musical cinema in a period when youth-driven and content-centric stories are gaining audiences' interest. The motion poster on social media shared by Hombale Films has already attracted the attention of the movie-loving and music-starved public and music fans alike.
The film is being produced by Vijay Kiragandur, the founder of Hombale Films and one of the most influential producers of Indian cinema today. Vijay Kiragandur has made Hombale Films one of the most successful producers in Indian cinema today and has built up Hombale into a pan-India giant with several big-budget productions in the last few years that have drastically revived the scale of Kannada and Indian cinema in general and the Kannada film industry in particular.
From the streets where dreams find their voice comes a story of friendship, hustle, and rivalry. ❤️🔥

Yeto Ka Naay will be directed by Sarang Sanjeev Sathaye, while the screenplay is written by Sarang Sathaye, Sujay Jadhav, Srushti Tawade, and Shreyas Sagvekar. A.V. Prafullachandra will be the film’s composer, and Harshvir Oberoi will be the cinematographer.
Music is expected to be central to the movie, with the makers preparing a soundtrack based on contemporary rap, hip-hop beats and street-style musical stories, the report said. With an increasing number of independent hip-hop cultures in India, especially after films and web series examining urban youth themes, the project is seen as a very timely and bold move.
The shooting of the film is moving along very quickly in Mumbai. The production team is aiming to finish the project and launch it in theatres before the end of this year.
Apart from Yeto Ka Naay, there have been great updates regarding Hombale Films’ future projects in Kannada cinema. According to internal sources from the production house, the company is listening to new and content-oriented Kannada film scripts and is in the process of making several new-age Kannada projects in the next few years.
This is exciting to Sandalwood fans as Hombale Films has played a major role in raising Kannada cinema to national and international fame over the past few years.
With Yeto Ka Naay, Hombale Films seems ready to reinvent itself this time in the world of urban youth culture, music-driven stories, and Gen Z themes in a film that is still high-quality cinema.
