Dominating the Domestic Market

The rise in advance bookings in India has been immense, even though bookings are reportedly only just starting to pop up in large territories such as Tamil Nadu. As of 6:00 AM today, the film has stood at a record ₹7.71 crore in India (block seats available as well).

  • Sales Led by Karnataka: As an expected outturn, Karnataka had the highest sales with over ₹4 crore for sale alone.
  • Bengaluru's Hot Show in India: Fans from Bengaluru are proving their followership with tickets priced as high as ₹2,000. Early morning shows (6:30 AM) including Mukunda and INOX multiplexes sold out on BookMyShow.
  • Ticket Sales: 1 lakh+ tickets sold in India in the first few hours of booking opening.

The Global Surge: ₹25 Crore Overseas

The domestic numbers are promising, but the international market is where Jana Nayagan is really showing off its "Pan-World" pull. The film has already passed the ₹25 crore mark in overseas advance bookings.

  • Malaysia Record: In Malaysia, the country setting the grand audio launch, the film sold 50,000 tickets in just two hours, the fastest for any Indian movie ever.
  • UK & North America: The UK has also achieved the 50,000 tickets sold milestone, with North America and Australia indicating similar sell-outs.

The Power-Packed Cast, and, in some respects, The Film Director

The film was written and directed by H. Vinoth with its title tagline as a high-octane political thriller.

  • Star cast: It stars Thalapathy Vijay, with Pooja Hegde as the female lead and Bollywood veteran Bobby Deol as the central antagonist.
  • Supporting Cast: A great cast for the film as well as Mamitha Baiju, Priyamani, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Narain.
  • Background music: Thumping background score and songs by Anirudh Ravichander are already huge hit songs in the pre-release era.

Pan-India Release: Jana Neta

Focusing on Vijay’s resurgence in the North, the makers have announced a release in Hindi, calling it Jana Neta. The movie would reportedly include one of the biggest openings for a Tamil star in the Hindi belt at a time when the country sees the holiday weekend.
