Tollywood star Jr. NTR paid tribute to his grandfather N. T. Rama Rao at NTR Ghat in Hyderabad on 28 May. His visit was warmly received by the fans and admirers of the Telugu states, and videos and pictures of NTR giving floral tributes quickly went viral on social media.
Dressed in a simple denim shirt and less bold, Jr. NTR arrived at the memorial under tight security and hundreds of fans. He delivered flowers at the samadhi of Sr. NTR, remembering the towering personality who left an unmatched impact on Telugu cinema and Andhra Pradesh politics.
A few emotional videos of the visit were posted on the internet showing Jr. NTR softly paying respect to the memorial as the fans gathered around the memorial. The fans of the Nandamuri family were waving banners, taking photographs and chanting slogans in honour of the great actor-politician. The atmosphere at NTR Ghat was very nostalgic as everyone spoke about Sr. NTR’s contributions to cinema and public life.
Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, Sr. NTR, is one of the most prominent Telugu actors. Sr. NTR changed Andhra Pradesh politics in 1982 when the Telugu Desam Party was formed. He became Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in a short time, and his Telugu pride and regional identity became popular.
