The couple’s wedding is an interfaith marriage, and they reportedly went ahead with the ceremony despite facing opposition from their families.

Temple Wedding in Kerala

The wedding took place at a temple in Arumanur near Thiruvananthapuram, where local residents and a few political leaders attended the ceremony. Following traditional Hindu rituals, Farman tied the sacred thaali (mangalsutra) around Monalisa’s neck and applied vermilion (kumkum) on her forehead, formally solemnizing the marriage.

After the ceremony, the couple spoke to the media and explained why they chose Kerala for their wedding. According to them, they were deeply impressed by the state’s safety, culture, and welcoming environment.

“We really love Kerala. After seeing the safety and the peaceful environment here, we decided that this would be the perfect place for our wedding,” the couple said.

Love Story Began on a Film Set

Monalisa Bhosle hails from Indore in Madhya Pradesh, while Muhammad Farman is originally from Maharashtra. Both are associated with the film industry and reportedly met about six months ago during a film shoot.

Farman revealed that their relationship quickly grew strong.

“I met Monalisa on a film set. Over the past six months, our love has grown deeply. These six months feel like a bond of 60 years for us,” he said.

Why They Chose Kerala

The couple had come to Kerala for a film shoot and were captivated by the state’s scenic beauty and the warmth of its people. They also hinted that they feared opposition to their relationship in other states due to the interfaith nature of their marriage.

“To avoid possible problems and because we felt safe here, we sought permission from the temple committee and decided to get married in Kerala,” Farman explained. He also shared that his father has not yet fully accepted the marriage.

Political Leaders Attend Wedding

The ceremony was attended by V. Sivankutty, the Education Minister of Kerala, who congratulated the couple and wished them a happy married life.

The presence of artists from other states choosing Kerala for their wedding in accordance with local traditions made the event even more notable.

Couple Seeks Police Protection

Following the wedding, Monalisa and Farman reportedly approached the Kerala police seeking protection, citing concerns about possible backlash due to their interfaith marriage. Authorities are said to be looking into their request to ensure their safety.

Their unique love story from meeting on a film set to tying the knot in a temple far from their home states has now captured attention across social media and news platforms.
